Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, has thrown his weight behind Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, elevating him to the elite tier of Nigeria’s best-performing chief executives.
The Minister delivered the resounding endorsement on Wednesday in Abuja when a high-powered delegation of the Governor’s media aides spearheaded by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK – stormed his office on a strategic courtesy visit.

Moving away from routine diplomatic pleasantries, Malagi grounded his endorsement in physical reality, recalling his own boots-on-the-ground assessment during a visit to Kebbi State last year.

“I was in Kebbi State last year and know exactly what the Governor has done. Even the newly constructed Civil Servants’ Secretariat shows that he is a true Comrade,” Malagi declared, pointing to tangible infrastructure as the ultimate proof of leadership.

The Minister expressed absolute astonishment at how the state capital and overall infrastructure have undergone massive turnarounds under Governor Idris, praising his sweeping footprints across healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, and road networks.

In a unique twist of administrative acknowledgment, Malagi also turned the spotlight on the visitors themselves, commending the Kebbi media team as trailblazers. He noted that they are the first delegation of their kind to visit his office armed with a meticulous, comprehensive scorecard detailing their principal’s accomplishments.

Beyond state lines, the dialogue zoomed in on how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s federal roadmap is reshaping Kebbi’s landscape. Malagi drew attention to heavy-hitting federal interventions, notably the sprawling Lagos–Badagry Superhighway and life-changing housing projects for internally displaced persons executed through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
In a major revelation, the Minister disclosed that Kebbi State holds the highest number of benefiting kilometres along the Lagos–Badagry Superhighway route – a game-changing artery projected to violently shake up economic isolation, skyrocket Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), and grease the wheels of commerce. Furthermore, Malagi emphasized that Kebbi’s unmatched agricultural capacity remains a sleeping giant that, when fully exploited, will anchor Nigeria’s food security drive.

Earlier, Commissioner Yakubu Ahmed BK made it clear that the visit was an open expression of gratitude to President Tinubu for making Kebbi a prime beneficiary of high-impact federal projects.
Striking a passionate chord, the Commissioner defended the administration’s aggressive development streak, noting that the government’s scorecard speaks for itself.
“Let me highlight the Governor’s achievements because we have a story to tell. The Governor has constructed roads, built more hospitals and primary healthcare centres, provided free fertilisers to farmers, empowered youths and implemented several other people-oriented programmes,” Yakubu asserted.
With federal backing locking into state-level execution, the synergy between Abuja and Birnin Kebbi signals a new dawn for a state rapidly shedding its limits to claim a front-row seat in national development.
