Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has appointed a former All Progressives Congress (APC) State Publicity Secretary Makinta Zarami, as a Special Adviser, alongside three others, to bolster his administration’s post-insurgency recovery drive.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued in Maiduguri by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Dauda Iliya.
Aside from Mr. Zarami, the newly appointed Special Advisers are Ali Goni Lawan, Ali Sheriff Galgal, and Bukar Aliyu Daja.
According to the statement, the appointments are pursuant to the powers conferred on the governor under Section 196(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).
In addition to the Special Advisers, Governor Zulum also approved the appointment of Gujja Bukar Dalori as Senior Technical Assistant (STA) on Reconstruction.
The statement noted that the appointments are aimed at reinforcing the administration’s commitment to effective governance, reconstruction, and sustainable development after years of insurgency.
Governor Zulum congratulated the new appointees and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through dedication and selfless service. He charged them to deploy their wealth of experience to advance his vision of rebuilding communities, consolidating peace, and delivering quality service to the people of Borno State.
