The President of Nigeria and 2027 Presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has recorded a landslide victory in Borno State, polling a total of 414,988 votes across the 27 Local Government Areas of the state.
His lone challenger in the state, Mr. Osifo Stanley, suffered a total defeat, failing to score a single vote across all the local government councils.
The results of the exercise were officially compiled and announced by the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, who acted as the State Collation and Returning Officer at the state capital.
The Humanitarian Times reports that the election returns were brought in from the various local government areas by their respective council chairmen, who served as local collation officers.
A breakdown of the results showed that Jere Local Government Area yielded the highest number of votes for Tinubu with 42,138 votes, followed closely by Maiduguri Municipal Council (MMC) which returned 39,970 votes.
Similarly, Gubio LGA recorded 27,623 votes, Biu LGA returned 27,309 votes, while Kaga LGA gave the frontline aspirant 24,822 votes.
Despite security challenges in parts of northern Borno, party members turned out to cast their votes. In Magumeri, Tinubu scored 18,784 votes; in Askira-Uba, he got 18,120 votes; and in Mafa, the home LGA of Governor Zulum, he polled 17,006 votes.

Other results announced include Konduga (15,226), Mobbar (14,905), Abadam (13,837), Gwoza (13,669), Bama (13,185), Hawul (13,034), Nganzai (10,964), Marte (10,681), Monguno (10,043), and Kukawa (9,988).
The lowest votes came from Kala-Balge and Chibok local governments, where Tinubu polled 5,127 and 5,921 votes respectively. Throughout the collation, Mr. Stanley scored zero in all 27 areas.
Zulum commends orderly conduct
Speaking after receiving and certifying the figures, Governor Zulum commended the party stakeholders, security agencies, and the council chairmen for ensuring a peaceful and orderly collation process across the state.
He noted that the seamless conduct of the exercise showed the high level of discipline and unity within the Borno State chapter of the APC.
”The party members in Borno have spoken clearly. This massive turnout and unanimous decision show our commitment to the direction of our great party,” Zulum said.
Observers in the state attribute the overwhelming victory to the strong political structure put in place by Governor Zulum and his predecessor, Senator Kashim Shettima, who are both staunch backers of the former Lagos State governor’s presidential bid.
