The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Yobe State Council, has commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his exceptional efforts in constructing access roads across the state, significantly improving the lives and connectivity of Yobe residents.

This endorsement came during an inspection tour organized by the NUJ Yobe Council on Tuesday.

Comrade Rajab Mohammed Ismail, Chairman of the NUJ Yobe Council, who expressed profound appreciation for the governor’s initiative said “Governor Buni’s commitment to infrastructure development, particularly in the area of road construction, is highly commendable,” Comrade Rajab stated. “These projects have had a transformative effect on our communities, facilitating easier movement and boosting economic activities.”

During the tour, residents of various localities shared their positive experiences with the newly constructed roads. Malam Kakdu Kafayo, from Tagali in Bade Local Government Area, highlighted the impact of the 10km Chumbusko-Tagali road.

“Before the road was built, transporting our farm produce to markets was a major challenge,” Kafayo said. “Now, we are connected to other parts of the state, and life has become much easier.”

Malam Sama’ila Tagali, a local motorist, also praised the governor while calling for additional infrastructure. “The road has opened up new opportunities for us,” he remarked. “However, we would benefit greatly from storage facilities to preserve our produce.”

He also commended the construction of the Jumaat Mosque, attributing these developments to Governor Buni and the Commissioner for Works, Alhaji Umar Wakil Duddaye.

Malam Ishaku Ado, the Masaya of Kukuri, echoed these sentiments. “The three communities are immensely grateful to the Commissioner of Works for facilitating this project,” Ado said. “These roads have brought us closer and improved our daily lives.”

In Fika, the Vice Chairman of the local government highlighted the historic significance of the road projects. “This is a cause for celebration among all citizens of this locality,” he noted. “The project has connected about five wards and three local government areas of Fika, Gujba, and Gulani, creating a lasting legacy for this administration.”

Concluding the tour, Rajab Mohammed Ismail called on other governors to take a cue from Governor Buni’s dedication to development. “Governor Buni’s exceptional work in providing access roads is a model for others to follow,” he urged. “Such initiatives are crucial for the overall development of our country.”
